DNA Test Re-ignites Wild Moose Chase
The debate on whether the legendary beasts might still exist has gone on for years. Scientist and moose hunter, Ken Tustin, has always insisted that these giant animals, last seen fifty years ago, are still around. Claimed sightings of these huge Canadian immigrants has always been viewed by New Zealanders as their version of the Loch Ness Monster. But now a few hairs have tested positive for moose genes at a reputable Canadian DNA lab. These results have given new credibility to the generally disbelieved claim that the elusive Canadian moose still lurk somewhere in five hundred square kilometres of dense impenetrable bush. Now plans are under way to DNA test samples of suspected moose droppings collected over the last decade. Believers in the legend are ecstatic that they have physical evidence that the moose, that has eluded a number of cameras posted in the area several years ago, really exists. There is now solid evidence to lift the immigrant moose from the realm of mythical beasts like "Nessie." Incredibly, the moose may still survive. So next time you are confronted with a myth, remember that even wild moose chases sometimes get settled by solid evidence.
