Bigfoot was a Bison
In the summer of 2005 Roger Smarch of Teslin in Canada claimed to have seen the hairy creature pass in front of a house window. Among the evidence left was a footprint about twice the size of a human one, and a patch of coarse chocolate coloured hair found near where several others swear they also saw the creature. Biologists at the University of Alberta did a DNA profile of the hair sample. The sample underwent rigorous analysis and the gene sequences found in it were compared to the known sequences of other animals. They concluded that the hair sample could not have come from any bipedal animal that was sighted near Teslin. In fact the Teslin hair sample gave a 100% match to the North American bison. Despite the fact that a couple of herds of bison wander near the town, about 60% of the people in Teslin still believe the sightings were Bigfoot. It seems miss identification of known animals continues to keep alive a story which is nothing if not persistent. So next time you think you see Bigfoot, grab your camera and get the proof we're all waiting for.
