Moving Beyond Matter with Christopher Shennan

Just as clothes rubbing against each other in the dryer can produce static, so ordinary human contact on a daily basis can produce static.  Rubbing shoulders with people at work, home, or in social situations, can often lead to personality conflicts.

At some level this "static" is normal, since we are all different and we can't be expected to have a natural affinity with everyone.  Of course, these conflicts need to be worked out, or our peace would be disturbed.  But a certain amount of personality conflict is inevitable.

Unfortunately, though, if we are not careful, these minor incidents of minor static between personalities can degenerate into serious conflict — anger, hatred, and even murder result.  This kind of conflict is no respecter of persons.  It can break out between friends, races, and between employers and employees.  It can plant seeds of destruction in families, communities, churches, and nations.  If a minor personality or cultural conflict is not amicably resolved, there is no end to the harm it can do.

When the "sparks" are flying, what do you do to calm things down?
