More That Matters with Christopher Shennan

Where does one get the backbone to face changeable and trying situations?  How does one develop the ability to bend and twist in the winds of adversity?  Certainly not by our own devices.  Our own resources are sure to fail when we most need them.

Most of those who have learned the art of adaptability claim to have received "outside help," or help from a source other than themselves.  In times of crisis, when they could not bear the pressure any more, they have turned to God.  And in so doing received the strength they needed.  In many cases, these were people who were agnostic, or atheistic in attitude.  Yet, when no other path seemed viable, they cried out in their need.  They were not disappointed.

You may think all this is nonsense, yet what harm would it do to at least explore the possibilities?  The foundation of science is experimentation and research.  The true scientist leaves no stone unturned in his quest for the mysteries of the universe.

Would it be wise to leave this stone — the stone of divine intervention — unturned?
