Most of us would be reluctant to label our own weaknesses and character flaws as "black holes." We are willing to admit to mistakes, even failures. But to call these "black holes" seems a little extreme. After all, "Nobody's perfect."
However, we have to admit that these flaws we like to call "harmless imperfections" often draw us into more serious behavior patterns. They suck us in like a black hole, and we find ourselves spiritually adrift. We are left without an anchor to hold us, or a compass to guide us. Impatience can lead to anger, and anger to violence. Laziness can lead to a bad work ethic, and ultimately to poverty. Unchecked, our "little weaknesses" can have serious consequences. Would it hurt to pray about these "soft" areas of our lives?
