There are few examples of joy that can match that of the father when his son returned from wasteful living in the far country. An old story tells of the son who had taken his inheritance and wasted it on "wine, women, and song," so to speak. When a famine hit the land and the son was reduced almost to starvation, he realized his mistake. He went back to his father, not expecting more than a mediocre reception. And he was quite prepared to labour as one of his father's hired servants. But he was in for a surprise: "While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. He felt sorry for his son. So the father ran to him, and hugged and kissed him." If you ever felt the need to seek God until you found Him, what kind of reception do you think you would receive?
