Moving Beyond Matter with Christopher Shennan

If so much in the galaxy is a mystery to astronomers, what about us common folk?  If scientists are mystified, how are the rest of us going to figure out the mysteries of the universe?

The answer is that no one needs to know everything.  Each of us have particular abilities that enable us to function in a particular area of life.  We can expand our knowledge all we want, but basically we have to be selective.  No one needs to feel inadequate because they cannot figure out some of the deeper mysteries of the universe.  We need to focus on the things in life that really matter.

There are lots of things important to pursue in life.  Gainful employment, noble ambitions, hobbies, travel, and any number of other occupations and interests.  They are a natural part of life.  However, none of these have much meaning if we don't know where we are going - if we don't know where our lives fit into the grand scheme of things.

Sure, it is great to explore the mysteries of the physical universe, but it is far more important to seek our spiritual destiny.  Without that, there isn't much point, is there?
