Life also has a way of whipping us, sometimes quite severely. Such severity can either destroy us or promote us. It all depends upon whether we allow these whippings to sour us or sweeten us. The Bible has a word that may apply to any one of us, "And we also have joy with our troubles because we know that these troubles produce patience. And patience produces character, and character produces hope."
A good character is of more value in a sticky situation than a great deal of craft and clever manoeuvring. God is a lot more interested in our character, than in our comfort.
