Whether we are religious or not, we all seek some "light source" to give us direction in life.  If we have an ounce of reason in us, we all want to choose the right direction in life.  We all want to live meaningful lives.  We at least want to follow the light of reason and good sense.

There are many "lights" we could follow.  Even science, with its emphasis on objective observation, acts as a light to many.  Many follow the light of philosophy, even though philosophers are seldom in agreement.  Then there are political movements that claim their platform leads "up."  With so many "lights" seeking to claim our attention, it is a wonder we are not more confused than we are.

Perhaps it is time to listen to the One who said, "I am the light of the world."
