Moving Beyond Matter with Christopher Shennan

Have you heard anyone say, "I don't know which way is ‘up' anymore?"  Perhaps you have said it yourself when you have been under pressure, and too much demand is made on your time.  When too much is going on at once, we tend to get confused.  We need to stop, and get our bearings.

Like the pilot in the sky and the diver in the sea, we need some point of reference to determine which way is up - to decide which is the wisest and best course to follow.  The fact that we often make the wrong decisions in life shows how important it is to find a moral point of reference.  Why is it we are so afraid of absolute standards, or deny they exist?  Even plants accept the light of the sun as an absolute indication of which way is up.

Are we not of more value and intelligence than plants?
