More That Matters with Christopher Shennan

We are all, to one degree or another, construction engineers. We do not build skyscrapers, ships, or monumental structures. We are all engaged in building our own individual lives. Just as a building requires planning, and careful selection of the proper materials, so our lives require similar diligent labour if they are going to come out right.

We have a choice as to what kind of "materials" we are going to put into our lives? Justice, goodness, and integrity are some of the building blocks of life. Love, mercy, and forgiveness are also desirable. But there are others: dishonesty, unkindness, and selfishness.

Just as the bees have a built-in plumb-line to ensure their honeycombs are built to the proper specifications and tilt at the proper angle, so wee need a moral plumb-line. We need to build our lives with constant reference to justice and truth.

What kind of materials are you investing in your life, and how much does truth and justice figure in your planning.
